The Harran Public School, located in the Upper Town, was founded on September 1st, 1996. The construction of its new building began in 2012, and is being funded from the city's budget and profits from hosting the Global Athletic Games. The school's motto is LIVE. LAUGH. LEARN. and is present in its emblem. The institution’s main objective is to provide perfect balance between education, personal development, and leisure. Students are encouraged to use their free time to develop their own interests and hobbies through a scholarship scheme available to the most active in social, sport, and artistic fields. The school's principal is Gaye Metin.
